Unleashing God’s Truth, One Verse at a Time Since 1969
John MacArthur is the pastor-teacher of Grace Community Church, as well as an author, conference speaker, chancellor of The Master's University, and Seminary, and featured teacher with the Grace to You media ministry.
In 1969, after graduating from Talbot Theological Seminary, John came to Grace Community Church. The emphasis of his pulpit ministry is the careful study and verse-by-verse exposition of the Bible, with special attention devoted to the historical and grammatical background behind each passage. Under John's leadership, Grace Community Church's two morning worship services fill the 3,500-seat auditorium to capacity. Several thousand members participate every week in dozens of fellowship groups and training programs, most led by lay leaders and each dedicated to equipping members for ministry on local, national, and international levels.

Most people in the world have no experience of deep and abiding joy. Even though it is something we all desperately long for, the assurance that true happiness can be known — fully and forever — is a hope that billions of people live every day without. This is a tragedy. Desiring God is on a mission to change that. We aim to help people everywhere embrace a profound truth that changes everything about life and eternity: You were created for something greater than yourself. You were formed for something awesome and magnificent. You were made to know glory — God’s glory. And the deepest longings of the human heart can be fully satisfied by pursuing that glory. In fact, God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him.

Voddie makes the Bible clear and demonstrates the relevance of God’s word to everyday life. However, he does so without compromising the centrality of Christ and the gospel. Those who hear him preach find themselves both challenged and encouraged.
Voddie’s area of emphasis is Cultural Apologetics. Whether teaching on classical apologetic issues like the validity and historicity of the Bible, or the resurrection of Christ; or teaching on biblical manhood/womanhood, marriage and family, he helps ordinary people understand the significance of thinking and living biblically in every area of life.
Douglas Wilson is a conservative Reformed and evangelical theologian, pastor at Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho, faculty member at New Saint Andrews College, and author and speaker. It’s the transformational hope in Jesus Christ.
In addition, our Urban Youth Ministry provides Free educational support and after-school recreation for Aurora families. Our Prison Ministry brings hope to the incarcerated, and support for

Picking a Bible out and trying to figure out what version to use can be confusing. A study Bible with commentary is SO helpful when studying the Word of God as we can often misunderstand something. The bottom of each page has commentary to help us better understand the context and what words mean. When studying, it's important to read the entire context of the passage, before and after, to gain understanding of the scripture. The ESV or NIV versions are both easy to read and understand.
This book is what inspired TRUE G. I am so thankful to have been recommended this book. This is the book that changed my entire perspective of Jesus. He is the TRUE outlaw! This book gives us a beautiful look into Jesus' personality that we tend to overlook. A must read!
Reading the Gospels without knowing the personality of Jesus is like watching television with the sound turned off. The result is a dry, two dimensional person doing strange, undecipherable things.
But when we discover his true character-this man who made the wind, music and flying squirrels-suddenly all of the remarkable qualities of Jesus burst forth with color and brilliance like fireworks.
Breaking Jesus out of the typical stereotypes, BEAUTIFUL OUTLAW welcomes readers into the rich emotional life of Christ showing how they can experience the actual personality of Jesus in their daily lives in ways that will deepen their faith.
The story of an Antheist to a preacher. This man, Lee Strobel, went to great lengths to try to prove Christianty wrong. Read his story as he presents physical, medical, and historical facts.
(Movie below)
Using the dramatic scenario of an investigative journalist pursuing his story and leads, Lee Strobel uses his experience as a reporter for the Chicago Tribune to interview experts about the evidence for Christ from the fields of science, philosophy, and history.
This book opens your eyes to our hearts which come fully alive through Christ. All things flow from our hearts, and this book gives us perspective of how to be aware of our hearts.
Waking the Dead—newly revised and updated for these trying times—reveals the secret of finding a full life, identifying the fierce battle over our hearts, and embracing all that God has in store.
Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” That’s the offer of Christianity, from God himself.
Jesus touched people, and they changed: the blind had sight, the lame walked, the deaf heard, the dead were raised. To be touched by God, in other words, is to be restored, to be made into all God means us to be. That is what Christianity promises to do—make us whole, set us free, bring us fully alive.
This is a great book on the topic of spiritual warfare which is upon ALL of us. It does a fantastic job breaking down how we can identify it and combat it. As believers in Jesus Christ, we are given the Armor of God. Chip breaks down what the armor is and how to put it on (guard ourselves). Although the armor is figurative, it is something we literally need to equip ourselves with DAILY! The armor consists of the Belt of Truth, Breastplate of Righteousness, Gospel of Peace, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit. Armor up Fam!
Some Christians believe strongly in the existence of demons and spiritual warfare. Others downplay or even ignore the idea. With such divergent views, how are Christians supposed to know the truth about demonic forces at work in this world? The Invisible War examines what every believer needs to know about Satan, demons, and spiritual warfare, offering a balanced look at this controversial subject. This provocative book will help Christians understand what the Bible says about these threats and will show them how they can safeguard themselves and their families through prayer. Now repackaged for a new generation, The Invisible War offers a balanced look at what is going on in the spiritual realm and what believers can do to defend themselves.
This is a topic we ALL can benefit from. We need to break the chains of unhealthy habits in our lives. This book does a great job of giving scenario examples and effects of boundaries, how to set them, and how to continue to live with healthy boundaries in different situations. The author gives a Biblical perspective for us to ground ourselves in truth as we apply these new habits.
Does your life feel like it's out of control? Perhaps you feel like you have to say yes to everyone's requests. Maybe you find yourself readily taking responsibility for others' feelings and problems. Or perhaps you focus so much on being loving and unselfish that you've forgotten your own limits and limitations. Or maybe it's all of the above.
In the New York Times bestseller, Boundaries, Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend help you learn when to say yes and know how to say no in order to take control of your life and set healthy, biblical boundaries with your spouse, children, friends, parents, co-workers, and even yourself.
Now updated and expanded for the digital age, this book continues to help millions of people around the world answer these tough questions:
You don’t have to let your life spiral out of control. Discover how boundaries make life better today!
Great book that I'm currently studying in right now. It does an awesome job breaking down scripture verse by verse while incorporating the history for the reader to understand and apply it to our time now. These are great books of the Bible to study. I'm looking forward to what the Holy Spirit wants to teach me through this expositional study.
Pastor John MacArthur will take you through these short but impactful letters, passage by passage, so that you can better understand their message of forgiveness, how to uphold a biblical faith, and the real dangers of spiritual warfare.
John was not alone in his concern about the influence of false teachers in the early church. Jude, a half-brother of Christ, also wrote to the believers. In his letter, he firmly urged all believers to fight for truth, and encouraged all followers of Jesus to stand firm in the faith.
